Impressions of Modern Ithaca

These pictures almost epitomise what you might think is modern Ithaca.

Firstly the girl with the flag depicted against the sunny orange backdrop. I was inspired by the parade for the Ionian island unification on 21st May in Vathy.

The picture is symbolic of the pride of getting independence from Britain and joining the Greek nation.

The second picture is an old olive tree standing four square. I used the limited colour palette I had. It still appears effective.

Lastly, the more obvious depiction of Vathy harbour looking over from Batis Restaurant. It is a deep-water harbour, which is reflected in the dark blue sea

I have tried to depict the island without making it a cliche.
