Magical Madeira
It seems odd to create these black and white pictures on the beautiful island of Madeira. I can only think they somehow represent some of the volcanic structure!
Mostly sunsets or pictures looking out to sea. I have mostly daubed and scrawled .. using a 130gsm acid free pad. The ink is the Japanese ink.
Weirdly the one that pleases me most is the first picture of the sunset I did.
It is the pic with the blocks of black and the broad v of the valley from where I am staying in Campanario. The house was built by an eminent structural architect called eduardo. He advised I pop down to see one of his projects .. a bridge leading out to sea.
It is quite interesting as fishermen can move out along the pier to catch fish. Equally the sunset is visible off its end without any peripheral vision of cliffs or other obstacles. All you hear is the sea crashing on the rocks.
It works !!
Some pics are featured of the area and the structure ..Magdalene de Mar.
This restaurant nearby is certainly the best fish restaurant on Madeira (quote Eduardo).
Enjoy the scrawls.
