Beautiful High Dam Tarn

Whilst visiting High Dam Tarn I created these two pictures.

The trees are self-evident. The sun reflected in the tarn is another. Of course, as an artist, you don’t need to completely reflect reality or physics. Whether in this case this is poor draftsmanship or an actual design of the artist I think is a point.

If the process leads to some ‘disturbance’ in the for me laity of everyday physical reality.

It leads you into a reflection that isn’t quite correct or simply jumps out at you as being completely different.

The reflection is a door .. a boundary which can be like the door in c s Lewis’s ‘Lion the with and the wardrobe’

You can think the water gives you artistic licence to create or change .. even fast forward time or turn the clock back .
