The clock of time chimes by David Jackson

The spatial time slip closes

Time is such an important part of any story. In this picture, we see the pinnacle as the last remaining visible part of the island before it is consumed by the landscape. I mention time because the pinnacle stands like the central spivot of a great clockface.

The sky is dramatic and shows evidence of the battle between the creators and the destroyers. The flaming wings of the destroyer or winged devil can be seen above the landscape which is quiet and tranquil.

The contrast between land and sky is also a contrast in styles. The open patchwork of the land shows mans management but also the surrealist unreality of the world that Evelyn and Adam find themselves in.

This picture probably pre-stages the final chapters in the trilogy of the story.
